Another amazing kit from Gabrielle Pollacco has just been posted. This time Gabrielle brings us a tranquil page willed with blues and purple. The Blue Fern Studios background paper and Prima flowers are the perfect mix for a watercolor inspired page. When you purchase the kit, you get access to Gabrielle’s How-to video detailing step by step the process she took to make this beautiful page.

And could that photo be any sweeter?

Just about all materials are included in the basic version of the kit (read product description for all details). The complete kit includes the two Creameez colors she used from Shimmerz (Power to the Purple and Ride the Tide). With beautiful textures and cut outs, this one was a joy to do.

And like so many of our kits, we included a few extra pieces so that you can make another page. Here’s my bonus sample using the same techniques and steps Gabi used on her layout…

Love how it turned out but in hindsight I think I would have used the other side of this paper which had a bit more going on the top and bottom. I could also add bait more stamping on all the white space. we shall see. 🙂

As always so much going on here and lots to get caught up on. We received two very large boxes of Dusty Attic that will be added to the store soon (some brand new pieces that you are sure to swoon after). New kits… Again – lots coming! We have the very anticipated wedding album from Frank Garcia (if you go to his blog you can catch a full view of this very special album) as well as a great mixed media page from Jaya Raghavashni along with a beautiful floral masterpiece by Stacey Young. All to come very soon.

Thanks for checking in.

Happiness Is by Gabrielle Pollacco Plus

Happiness Is by Gabrielle Pollacco (MMK126)

Gabrielle Pollacco is back with a delicate layout that will stand the test of time. She mixes a grey and yellow color palette that is just… beautiful! I always love Gabrielle’s layouts and works of art but this one… it’s just perfect in every way (they all are I know).

As also usual, Gabrielle had a great photo for this layout but even if you don’t have a photo like this, it’s one of those layouts that is perfect for anything – everything!

The kit is just about complete in it’s basic form but we offered a complete version – only edition is the stamp set, Gabi’s Crackle Textures. A great set perfect for so many things.

I love how my page turned out and I love my bonus page too. I must confess (if I haven’t already done so before)… I am a way better scrapper than ever before and it is only because of all the talented designers that have contributed to our site over the last two years.  One thing that makes their layouts stand out among the average Joe’s is the attention to detail. Gabi is certainly a master at this – do just one of her layouts and follow the steps she takes on her videos and you will see.  Because of her and a bunch of others, I have totally stepped up my game and come up with some great bonus layouts (modest huh? :)). Here it is…

When you purchase this kit you will get the materials needed to complete it, access to online tutorial for Gabi’s featured layout, Happiness Is, as well as written step-by-step directions with color photos.

In addition, we have posted another kit from Gabrielle. Did you love Gabrielle’s post, Mischief? Mischief is a layout Gabrielle did for a Dusty Attic kit.  Both Gabrielle and Jennifer Hedger from Dusty Attic were kind enough to allow us to create a handful of these layouts as a special kit. I just love how the Dusty Attic paints and routing powder created such a genuine look of rusting metal from chipboard! See for yourself…

Instead of having to purchase the 10 packs of DA chipboard used on this layout, Jennifer was kind enough to cut us the pieces needed for this layout. So we turned this in to a special 1 page Dusty Attic layout kit.  Comes complete with full size paints (Raisn, Ginger Nut, Chocolate and Sun Burnt Orange) as well as a full sized continaer of Rusting Powder, Maja Design Papers (Jeans, Flannel Shirt and Vintage Autumn Basics XVI) as well as a few more pieces (you can see complete product list here).

Please note picture above reflects full packs of chipboards (only includes the pieces needed for layout).

This kit is in very LIMITED quantities. We will try to restock a few more in the near term but for now, grab it while you can.

Clearly enough for one day but I will be posting about 40 new 2Crafty products in the store this weekend.

Next week, the one and only Di Garling!!!! Yes i know – finally! Some of you have been counting down (I’m on that list). Di’s style and sense of color really pack a punch. Mixing her use of various mediums in with fabulous 2Crafty chipboards, you are sure to love this one! Look for it Monday/Tuesday.

Thanks for stopping in.

Happy by Gabrielle Pollacco

Happy by Gabrielle Pollacco (MMK105)

I know you guys have been waiting because the emails have been rolling in… yes, we have just posted another beautiful kit from the amazingly talented Gabrielle Pollacco. Gabi’s sense of earthiness mixed with romance brings a unique look that is undeniably all her own.  Aren’t we lucky she shares her tips and tricks time and again so we can look like pro’s too?  I know I am.

The latest…. Happy

Beautiful, right/  And that photo.. well we should all be so lucky to have photos that look like that.

As is customary with our kits, I try to include a bonus sample for mixed media layout kits. So here’s mine… I followed along in the same manner Gabi did on the featured layout with the exception of a lot of fussy cutting. Thought the background paper I included needed a bit more so the Green Cat Story paper was the perfect addition. didn’t have enough on hand to include a full sheet so you get a half sheet but it’s more than enough to cut out a hole bunch of branches.  Anyway… here it is…

Family by Janene Meyerowitz
Family by Janene Meyerowitz – Bonus Sample to MMK105 by Gabrielle Pollacco

For this kit we included three purchasing options… Basic (materials only), Basic Plus (materials plus 2 oz. bottle of Shimmerz Moody Mauve) and Complete (materials, Moody Mauve and Corset Toper Stamp designed by Gabrielle herself). We know a bunch of you already purchased this stamp so wanted to make sure you’d be able to purchase just what you need.

In addition I do have a note to those of you who ordered Gabrielle’s last kit, Always… I inadvertently forgot to include the lavender background paper I used on my bonus sample. A great customer pointed it out to me. It was at the point about half the kits went out.  So please if I forgot to include in your kit, just add in comments when purchasing this kit and I’ll send along.

That’s about it for today. Coming this week… new Blue Fern Studios and frank Garcia’s last Live with Prima kit. Hoping to have his kit posted on Friday. Will see how the week progresses. Oh and Beauty and Grunge is coming.. the designers have been busy.  Think you will all like what you see.  Since it’s around the corner I guess I should let you know the remaining two designers… we previously announced Georgia Heald and Olga Heldwein as two of the four designers.  Today, I’ll let you know fellow Aussie Stacey Young will be part of the kit. And when Stacey’s involved you KNOW you will be getting a kit loaded with beautiful flowers.  Yes, there’s more flowers in this kit than we’ve ever seen before!  In addition we have a new designer added to The Scrapbook Diaries… Maiko Kosugi from Japan. Maiko brings another take on beauty and flowers even though she, like Stacey, both have boys. Bring on the flowers and  beautiful layouts for the boys!  I think you are all going to be really excited when we release all the details next week.

Thanks,

Janene

Stronger by Amy Lynn Lassiter

Who doesn’t love when we announce new designers to The Scrapbook Diaries line-up?  Well we have another amazing designer who may be known to many of you for her works at 7Dots Studio and Umwow, Amy Lynn Lassiter.  Amy’s mixed media work is an awesome display of steampunk goodness.  Be sure to check out her blog to see some of her other works.

For her first mixed media kit for us, she brings us Stronger. The mix of paints, stencils, metals and papers brings all elements together for the perfect steampunk type page. And even if you don’t have the perfect photo like Amy, you’ll find it quite versatile.

dsc_0147

The kit comes complete with materials to follow an online tutorial (stencils used sold separate).  You’ll need some basic tools, white ad black paint and some inks.

In addition, we through in a few extra pieces so you can make another page. Here’s a sample of the one I came up with…

Stronger Bonus Sample

Hope you like.  You can find all the details in the store here.

More later in the week… a canvas project from the very talented Olga Heldwein.

Confessions

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I am not one for modern technology even though I consider myself technologically advanced. I hate Facebook – yes it is true. There’s a person out there who hates facebook. I understand the need for it and why people like it but I just can’t be bothered. Sorry.  Thankfully Celine is far too kind to me and helps me out with it.  And thankfully Lisa is helping out with Pinterest. I like it, I pin but I don’t know how to keep up with it.

The real reason for this rant… I want to follow Kasia and all my other favorited. Seems Bloglovin is the place to be. And in order to do so, I need to make a post with some tag (notice the top). So here I am posting and ranting.

I have at least 2 kits to post this week but right now I NEED to go watch Finnabair unveil her new  Prima line at www.livewithprima.com.

Spring (even if a little late)

Hello.  Before I get in to our new kit, I’d like to congratulate all of the designers who made Prima’s 2013-2014 Design Team. We’re so excited to see two of our very own designers made the list – Adrienne Ford and Kasia Kryzminska.  Of course we found Lene Bjornerud from Prima’s previous Design Team – after seeing her work it is seriously no wonder why they renewed her position.  I think she must single handedly sell more flowers for them than anyone else. 🙂 And lined up to be featured as a guest designer is Céline Régnier.  Congrats ladies!  You are all so amazingly talented, couldn’t be happier for you.

And without even planning it, this all leads in nicely for our latest kit, Spring.

One of the layouts I fell in love with when looking at Lene’s blog was this one…

LB1_7619

Amazing, right?  Just couldn’t get it out of my head so I asked Lene if I could lift it (ever so kindly she said go for it).  And while my layout in NO WAY comes close to touching Lene’s masterpiece, here was what I wound up with…

Spring 2013 Extra Page Spring 2013 Layout

I had so much fun making this layout.  The listing, guessing, fussy cutting, you name it. Just had fun with it.  I miss fussy cutting.  Is it just me or have all the fun papers to cut seem to have vanished?  This one from Prima only offers a bit of trees on it so you get two sheets.

I also realize that as stencils become more and more widely used and available, it seems wrong to only offer the kit in one way.  This 6″x6″ Static stencil from Prima is so versatile and fun I personally think everyone needs one but let’s face it, you could swap it for something else you might have. So from now on, we’ll offer kits in their completed state and a “no stencil included” version. I might also take this one step further and forego the various mediums – we’ll see. Might play on the kit at hand but something to consider.

Enough ramblings for me (for now).

While we’re waiting…

I was hoping to have some new products updated in the store today but they haven’t arrived just yet. For a little tease… you can look forward to textured paints and mists from Art Anthology and Shimmerz, chipboard from Blue Fern Studios and Dusty Attic, a new kit from Kasia (oh is this one gorgeous – yellows/oranges) and a few more goodies.  We’ll be sure to send out a newsletter this week when the store is fully updated so you will be sure not to miss out.

But since I am here posting away… wanted to say just how lucky I am to work with such great people in the scrapbooking/papercrafting industry.  I spent a lot of time this week on calls with various manufacturer’s and one thing always remains the same – they are just so nice. Is it the shared interest and excitement or are crafty people just nicer?  Seems strange but true. Maybe it’s also just that I deal with companies that I can say this about. Two women in particular I need to point out…

Leslie from Blue Fern Studios. From the moment I began speaking with her, I knew I liked her.  She’s as passionate about scrapbooking as I am and so easy to talk to.  What I learned in our conversation is that she also has another blog, Mended Wings.  Leslie’s son was badly injured in Afganistan about 5 years ago.  From major burns to the loss of 85% of the left side of his brain.  If you want inspiration, be sure to check out her blog.

A Quick Note

Sorry for the slow week and lack of posting new kits. We have a bunch coming soon. Been very busy preparing for the Grace Autism Crop in Staten Island a previously blogged about.

Be sure to check back next week for new kits, new products, etc.  We’ve have a lot of new products coming in from Prima along with Dusty Attic chipboard, Art Anthology mediums.  All good things coming.  Hope you don’t mind being a little patient with us.

Thanks,

Janene
