Misty Russell does it again. She teaches us how to make sand out of salt! This great technique can be used on countless projects in countless ways. Not to mention the end result of this project is just beautiful! In her latest kit, Paradise, Misty once again puts new techniques to use to create a perfect beach paradise. You’ll get materials listed in description along with access to her online tutorial.
Just like I said, beautiful! Love it! In addition to getting the materials needed to make her featured layout, you’ll also get some extras to make a bonus page. Based on the techniques Misty shows in her video, here’s the bonus I came up with…
More this week… Ayeeda from 13Arts has an exclusive kit lined up for us using her new collection, Timeless. Not to mention we’ll be adding some goodies from 13Arts to the store as well.
Next week… Kasia Kryzminska is back! Have you missed her kits as much as I have? And this one is sure to please as it’s so Kasia!
Excited about the new Shimmerz Dimensionz paints? We just received our shipment of the new dimensional paints and I for one can’t wait to play! Have you seen Kelly Foster’s tutorial on the Shimmerz blog? You NEED to check it out. I for one can’t wait to give these little guys a try.
Additionally, we added the new Foiled Again Dazzler and Gold Mine Texturez to our stock. You can find the Dazzlerz here and the Texturez here.
New products scheduled to hit the store soon…. Vintage Winter Basics from Maja Designs, Dusty Attic and ScrapFX.
New Kits…. Gabrielle Pollacco – just waiting on the Maja order to arrive but she’ll be posting the layout tomorrow – it really is one to swoon over. Thursday we’ll have a new one from Frank Garcia as promised – a Scrapbook Diaries exclusive! You’ll get to experiment with Artist Pigment Powders from LuminArte. And another NEW designer jointing us at The Scrapbook Diaries… All good things coming your way.
Kasia Krzymińska (aka. Czekoczyna) is by far one of the most talented mixed media artists I know. It’s in her blood, fingers and bones. She has it all. Whenever she sends me her sample layouts, I just swoon. I mean full on “oh” and “ah” at all the details. I always love her work. Of course I don’t wait for her to send me photos, I stalk her blog twice a day to see her latest innovations.
Her latest kit, #33. (Hello) was featured on the 7Dots Studio Blog this month. They did a piece on bubbles. And don’t you know it, Kasia’s example was amazing! Her use of Glossy Accents from Ranger nailed the concept. As ALWAYS, her use of colors is remarkable. This kit is loaded with yummy shades of blues, a little green and some yellow to warm it all up. It has 4 (yes 4) mini Twinkling H2O Watercolor Pods along with 4 Mini Misters filled with Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. The colors blend seamlessly to create this amazing look….
I know, stunning, right? Love it! I had so much fun getting to play and recreate Kasia’s work by following along on the online tutorial. When you purchase this kit, you get the password to access the online video to watch over and over. And my favorite part, this is the first time Kasia talks to us. I have always known her to be sweet and inspiring but seeing her in person with words makes this kit my favorite yet. She may be from Poland but don’t be fooled – her English is great. There is no misinterpreting her intentions or thoughts.
As with just about all of our kits, we wanted to offer you another layout sample using the product base Kasia uses (with a few extra pieces). So here is the bonus sample layout…
Maybe it’s just me but after watching the video, you just want to put the learned steps in to use. I had so much fun on this one. Hope you like it as much as I do.
And as promised, we offer the kit in a Complete form and Basic. For this kit the difference is in the stamps used (no stencil on this one). The complete kit comes with two stamp sets from BoBunny; the basic kit without the stamps. Here’s a pic of the basic kit…
It is no wonder why you might keep seeing Adrienne Ford‘s name pop up on newly announced Design Teams announcements… she’s beyond talented! And we at The Scrapbook Diaries couldn’t be happier that she is continuing to make some exclusive kits for us. Her artistic nature and free spirit encourage you to play with the products at hand to come up with your own unique masterpiece.
Her latest kit, Beautiful, uses papers from the Attic Door Collection by Lemon Owl. These papers are thinner than many others out there but they manage to take on the water, inks and paints packed in to this kit. Adrienne uses Artist Pigment Powders from Luminarte in a new way to add a great deal of depth. The techniques learned in this kit can be applied to other layouts so you always have a unique background to suit your needs. Kit also comes with video tutorial and basic written direction.
Here is the latest…
Beautiful by Adrienne Ford
As perviously posted, we are now offering kits in both Complete and Basic versions. For this kit the difference is the 12×12 Stencil and 2×2 clear stamp. The complete kit can be purchased for $48. This includes all materials, mediums, stamp and stencil. All you need to do is provide basic supplies (adhesive, scissors, etc.) as well as some ink and super heavy gesso or modeling paste. Don’t have Super Heavy Gesso? No problem, you can easily tack on a mini .5oz trial size to your order. If you already have the stencil or have a similar one and don’t need this 12×12 Grunge Net Stencil, no problem – just order the Basic Kit for $40. Basically we’re giving you the stamp for free in the complete kit since the stencil is $8.
Hope that all makes sense and that we’re continuing to give our customers what they want.
In addition to the main layout featured above, you’ll have enough materials to complete another layout. Here’s a pic of our sample.
Lisa Griffith is making her official debut here at The Scrapbook Diaries. I say “official” because Lisa was kind enough to help us out by creating a bonus layout for another kit we offered (it already sold out). This is is her first, and thankfully not her last kit for us. Her works are always fresh and amazing. If you’re a visiter of scrapbook.com and ogle over the beautiful layouts uploaded by their customers, then you are probably familiar with Lisa’s work.
For this kit, Lisa created two very different layouts using the same base of products. This kit does NOT come with a video but the written directions are pretty straight forward with some photos of the steps along the way. We’re offering the kit two ways – complete and basic. We’ll be doing this more and more as stencils and other types of materials can add a great deal of cost to a kit. Sometimes you want all the materials just as and other times you might be able to save a little money and use some items from your stash. Always be sure to read the description so you know what you will be getting in each kit.
Without further ado….

We have another great kit from Aida (13Arts) coming up in the next day or two.
Who doesn’t love Kasia Krzymińska (aka. Czekoczyna)? Her sweet demeanor and amazing talent are just two tiny components that make up part of this fabulous woman.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the choice of colors she uses on her projects. Her latest kit, 30. (Summer), mixes 5 colors of Silks Acrylic Gazes from Splash of Color along with 2 Twinkling H2O’s mixed with 2 Coleration sprays from Art Anthology. And all of these different mediums brings together lavender, gold, reds and various shades fuchsia. And when you see the 2 shades of red, you too will most likely think, really? Mix this with this…. but yes – I think the tomato red is my favorite part. Who knew this would all work together? Kasia – that’s who.
Here it is…
30. Mixed Media Kit (Summer)
As with just about all of our designer kits, we have a bonus layout included as well to use up some spare parts along with a few added other pieces….
You get all the materials and products to make both of these layouts. When you order this kit, a password will be sent in your confirmation email that will allow you access to an online video tutorial from Kasia.
Lene Bjornerud is the queen of flowers if you ask me (I can’t be sure but I might have already declared her just that when posting about her first kit with us). When she told me her past experience as a floral designer helps her with her layouts, it all clicked and made perfect sense to me. I can only imagine the floral arrangements she has put together.
Her latest mixed media kit for the Scrapbook Diaries, Big Sky, features a blue palette that is amazing. The royal blues and turquoise shades just go with so many things. I was able to use it on a layout with a photo of my husband – yes a floral layout for a man – I love it. I also found justice for a photo I took in Bora Bora (past life before kids). Love the colors. The colors are featured over at The Color Room where you can find a picture of this layout.
Without further ado…

Here’s my take, Love:
And last but not least, the Bonus Layout, Paradise Found:
In an attempt to help our customers out, we’re offering this kit one of two ways – the complete kit (the whole thing. Pretty much all you will need is adhesive and an old credit card for spreading molding paste). The Basic kit is probably anything but basic. We took out the 6″x6″ Static Stencil from Prima and the Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Black Soot. Figured these are two items people might already have in their stash so why not save $10 when ordering.
It’s finally up on the site… now accepting Pre-Orders for this much anticipated release now! Anna Dabrowska, aka Finnabair has released 3 new lines with Prima – Vintage Vanity, Elementals and added to her existing Mechanicals line. The release includes an A4 Paper Pad, 3 sizes of clear stamps with no shortage of background elements, Stencils and I mean lots, more great metal pieces… Take a look for yourself (we ordered jus about all of it).
Order are expected to ship from The Scrapbook Diaries at the end of July. First in, first out.
This kit was SO much fun to make. I don’t usually explore my inner artist (except for when working on kits from our designers as they truly inspire me). This was incorporated a little from Kasia, Adrienne and Lene. It’s one of those free spirited layouts where you can add as much or as little color as you like with the various mediums included – Chalkboard Mist from Tattered Angels, Twinkling H2O from Luminarte and Sorbet dimensional paint from Art Anthology. Not to mention it has some gorgeous chipboard pieces from 2Crafty.
Here it is…
Hope you like it as much as I do! Kits are limited on this one.
