Catching up for lost time and posting like mad! First we are very excited to report that we have a brand new kit from the very talented Elena Tretyakova. A kit with a twist! Elena was kind enough to make a fabulous wedding layout, Mr. & Mrs., as well as two shabby wedding themed cards. So no bonus page on this one but a layout and two cards! What could be better?
You can find all related information on the kit here. Be sure to read full product description as the kit types do vary. Be sure to order what you need.
Seems fitting that we also announce the addition of some Scrapiniec to the storefront. Elena has been a member oWe’ve included some pieces here and there in our kits but kind of held it as our secret treasure. Well, we’ve now made it available to all of you. The dainty white chipboard is the perfect addition to any crafty project! You can find full selection here. And to take a quick look, here’s just a few…
And not only did we add Scrapiniec to the line up but we also expanded our ScrapFx selection. They did it again and crated some of the most intricate Steampunk pieces you guys are gong to go crazy over…
Happy to report we have another beautiful layout from Elena Tretiakova. Elena’s style mixes layers and textures in to a beautiful creation. Her latest, Tenderness, bring a contrast of color that packs a punch.
The textures embedded in the layout are beautiful. From paper die-cuts to lace appliqués…. she mixes it!
Purchasing the kit comes complete with materials (read complete product description for details) as well as access to the online tutorial in which Elena takes us on her creative journey. Thank you Elena.
As always I had fun playing along and came up with a bonus sample. This one on the lighter side of things. Love how white gesso and one simple color (Amber Yellow) can create such color and emotion.
In hindsight, only thing I would have changed on mine was centering it a bit more. The Labyrinth stencil was awesome for some added background texture Love how easy you can move it around your page sod r some line and square elements.
Hope you enjoy too!
Coming – please Janene – get your act together and post all that amazing 7Dots Studio paper tonight!!!!! 🙂 Aiming to have it all posted tonight – I know lots of you are counting down to get your hands on it.
Thanks for stopping by. Oh wait… if you are still with me I will point out another item….. Are you friends with us on Facebook? If not you are missing out… We had a technical snafu with our website this weekend thanks to a lapse in our security certificate. In an effort to apologies for any inconveniences, we posted a 10% discount code (good this week only). I could just give it to you but more fun for you to go and check us out on Facebook. Be sure to like us so you can stay up on all the latest kits and product posts. 🙂
I know we have been quiet for a little while. All good – playing the catch up game on business and life. before I get in to the fabulous new kit from Elena Tretiakova, just want to mention the major delay we have had with completing orders for Gabrielle Pollacco’sHappiness Is kit and additional kits of Mischief. Our box of dusty Attic goodies has been tied up in customs. Nothing we can do but sit and wait. no reason for these things just the luck of the draw I suppose. jennifer over at Dusty Attic has been kind enough to send us out some additional decorative Scroll #2’s so we can complete the Happiness Is kit. hoping they arrive in the next week. We’ll fill orders as they were placed. once they arrive, we’ll be caught up very quickly.
OK. enough about that. On to the news of the day – Elena Tretiakova and her wonderful You and Me kit! As always Elna’s has this shabby chic look. This kit packs a kick with the added dark black paper she uses. She manages to pull off the contradicting look with ease. The kit is loaded with beautiful chipboards from so many of our favorite companies along with an assortment of beautiful Prima flowers.
Beautiful!!!!! Did you catch the subtle little angel sitting all nice and perched? Love it!
When purchasing this kit, be sure to read product description as usual. We include just about everything but there are some possible add-on’s depending on your current stash.
In addition to materials and video to make this layout, I created a bonus sample (no direction but follows Elana’s steps just the same).
Had a good time with it. Hands got a little messy (nothing I can’t handle – actually quite pleased seems I haven’t been as crafty as I’d like as of late but we are getting back on track with that too).
Kits are limited. I should mention a word about out stock/inventory…. Happy to say business is going well. We are experiencing a bit of growing pains in all the best ways possible. When we send materials to designer, we need to guess how many to stock. Because products are from all sorts of companies located all around the world just getting more later isn’t always an option. We’re finding more and more of our kits are selling out quicker than we’d like. We are working on this. The next round of materials to go out to designers will account for higher volume. We will do our best to fill all our customers wants or at least provide a decent amount of time to get those orders in before selling out. Elena is popular and sad to say we have not been able to stock enough yet. So get them while you can!!!!
New things coming… Di Garling on Monday! Another very popular designer who once again we won’t be able to keep up with demand. I am vowing to post her kit Monday so be sure to check in if you might be interested (IT IS STUNNING!!!!) we also have a BUNCH of new chippies from 2Crafty that we’ll be adding to the store over the coming days. Some very intricate pieces that are just amazing.
Jaya Raghuvanshi will debut her first kit for us very soon. Pascale B is coming back with a kick! She knows how to pack a punch with her color and I just got a look at what is coming… WOW!!! What else? Who else? If you are still with me on my rantings today…. end of the month we are brining you another mash up of two amazingly talented designers! The “G’s” will do a double! Can you guess what I could possibly be talking about?
After selling out of all of Elena Tretiakova‘s kits, we knew we needed more1 Elana is back with another beautiful shabby mixed media kit. She mixes stencil work and various mists to create a lot of interest and depth to her pages. Her latest, Family Portrait brings us a new color range for her works (new for Elena and our kits that is). As a;ways just stunning….
The subtle layers really make a statement. Not sure I did this kit any justice with my sample bonus page but here it is…
Still fun to do. 🙂
And if you blinked and have been paying attention to everything we do around here, I did, as promised, add those Prima flowers. We re stock piling a lot for kits but you can find the available selection here. In addition we have been continuing to post new chipboard pieces from all of your favorite companies- Blue Fern Studios, ScrapFX and Dusty Attic. Lots to be added soon in the coming weeks…. 2Crafty Chipboard, Maja Design has a baby line coming out, new chipboard brands and more.
New kits coming… we have 3 from the fabulous Frank Garcia. Be sure to stay tuned this week as one exclusive kit will be offered in a very limited number due to product availability.
Elena Tretiakova brings us another beautiful layout built from the bottom up from white cardstock. She mixes some mists, stencil work and a bit of printed elements from paper to compile a stunning layout. I always love Elena’s style. Almost has some kind of mysterious way or something but there’s no mystery as to how she carets her work when you watch the video to go along with her kits. She details each step so you can follow along. As usual the kit comes with just about all pieces needed to make the layout shown as well as a bonus sample. See the complete product listing here.
In my sample, I decided not to cut out a photo (I never have photos prepared when doing these layouts so all I ever seem to use is a photo marker to hold a place) so I cut my usual white mat sized to 3″ x 4″ and placed it on the right side of elements and also loved how it looked. I only mention this because I know some of you are not photo cutters.
Here’s the sample bonus layout I came up with…
And as usual for me – why can’t I get my coloring right? The layout does pop with the blue very nicely. I was very happy with the way it came out. Also love the Storm Cloud Color Bloom Spray. It’s such a nice grey, perfect for adding just a bit of shading.
Sorry for the quick post today but off to meet Jaime from The Crafters Workshop as I am picking up all those stencils we have on order. Being in New York, not many local companies but Crafters Workshop and I are not far apart at all! Will be sure to post them later today – there’s so many great styles!!!!!!!
Have a good one and thanks for checking in. Also later this week…. the one and only Gabrielle Pollacco with a oh so stunning layout!!!!!!
Elena submitted this layout to me weeks ago and I am so embarrassed to say it has taken me this long to post. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Then again I think all of our designers send in beautiful works even when grungy. Maybe I am prejudice. 🙂
All joking aside, Elena Tretiakova’s latest mixed media kit for The Scrapbook Diaires, Happy (MMK101), is just so sweet and romantic. It’s perfect for photos of those beautiful children (as featured on Elena’s sample), weddings, beach photos, you name it.
The stencil work is among my favorite. Elena uses the Gothic Romance stencil from The Crafters Workshop brilliantly! She makes all the elements work for her layout as she uses the center of a floral element to create the circles. I don’t know how to describe, maybe you just need to watch her online video (which you get access to when you purchase the kit).
Love it? I know I do! I had so much fun with this one. I needed to make a bonus sample fitting and worthy of this layout – hope I did some justice…
When you purchase this kit you get all the materials you need (see product description for complete list). Please note the stamp and stencil are sold separately. We did this since a few of our previous kits have used this same stencil. Always good to maximize and show the value in the products we sell.
Hope you like!
Again. I want to mention our new shipping policy for international orders…
In trying to accommodate our customers and are limited shipping options, we have an update for International Customers…International Shipping – Click on “Bill Me Actual Shipping Fees“. If interested in just a few stamps or maybe a stencil (very light packages), we can ship internationally for usually $9-12. 1-2 page kits usually ship for $18-24. We ship via USPS mail. Packages under 4 pounds can be sent via first class.
If you know your order is heavy (album kits or a bunch of kits, chose flat rate for $47 – it will be less than actual as these need to be shipped via priority mail). Prices do vary from country to country and depending on exact weight. If you don’t agree to pay the additional shipping invoiced, we’ll cancel the order and refund the original payment. Hope this helps service our customers better.
If choosing “Bill Me Actual Shipping Fees”, we’ll print out your shipping label and then send you a PayPal request for that amount. Your package will not ship until payment has been made. With time differences and whatnot, we’ll give you 72-hours to make payment. Failure to pay the shipping costs will result in a cancellation of your order and we’ll refund the original payment. Many of our products are limited quantities so we want to be fair to all of our customers. Paying the shipping fees in a timely manner will ensure a smoother process.
Thanks for checking in. More coming….

Elena Tretiakova brings us another beautiful layout filled with mixed media techniques to bring out the white on white delicate look she is known for. This one is loaded with layers of mists and stencil work. Perfect for creating custom mixed media backgrounds for your projects.
Isn’t it beautiful! I love the textures on this one and the slight color tones going on.
Here’s a pic of my sample for the Bonus Page as we like to give just a few more pieces so you can create at least one more page…
Sorry the pic is so bad…kind of rushing around this morning as the kids are going to be going on the bus for the first time today – have to love camp but feeling a little overwhelmed my babies are growing up). So sorry this was a short and quick post but I am sure you can understand.
We’ll have more this week… Friday a new one from Gabrielle Pollacco.
Elena Tretiakova is back with a follow up to her last kit, Boy of the Sun. Then latest mixed media kit, Boy of the Beach, is a stunning layout filled with soft details that make me count down to the days of summer. I found this layout so much fun to follow along and do my thing. I think it shows in the bonus sample I came up with as well. Elena did a great hoc walking us through her process.
Stunning, right? Here’s the bonus sample I came up with…
And looking back, I left out a few steps.
Regardless I love it! Hope you do too. We have a limited amount as we are awaiting some more chipboard from FabScraps to complete some more kits so grab them while you can.
Still to come – Blue Fern Chipboard still to be added and a new kit from Lisa Griffith.
I am so excited to announce a new designer for The Scrapbook Diaries…. Elena Tretiakova brings us her debut kit showcasing her signature style. I fell in love with Elena’s style when clicking from one blog to another. In fact I found Elena through a future designer for us as well. But moving on to the point of this post… Elena’s layout… Boy of the Sun.
Elena shows us how to follow her process in an online tutorial. When you purchase this kit, you’ll get access to the video as well as the materials needed to follow along. We didn’t include the masks in this one but the links to the ones used are listed in the product description (12×12 Damask and 12×12 Gothic Romance – both from The Crafters Workshop).
And as with most layouts, we included a few extra materials to show you how the mists and left over pieces can be used to create additional layouts. Here is my take…
Thanks for stopping in today. We’ll have more on Friday when we announce another new designers for The Scrapbook Diaries. Also want to point out I finally got on the ball and added the Whipped Spackle and Mini Round Blending Tools to the store.
