Hello. Before I get in to our new kit, I’d like to congratulate all of the designers who made Prima’s 2013-2014 Design Team. We’re so excited to see two of our very own designers made the list – Adrienne Ford and Kasia Kryzminska. Of course we found Lene Bjornerud from Prima’s previous Design Team – after seeing her work it is seriously no wonder why they renewed her position. I think she must single handedly sell more flowers for them than anyone else. 🙂 And lined up to be featured as a guest designer is Céline Régnier. Congrats ladies! You are all so amazingly talented, couldn’t be happier for you.
And without even planning it, this all leads in nicely for our latest kit, Spring.
One of the layouts I fell in love with when looking at Lene’s blog was this one…
Amazing, right? Just couldn’t get it out of my head so I asked Lene if I could lift it (ever so kindly she said go for it). And while my layout in NO WAY comes close to touching Lene’s masterpiece, here was what I wound up with…
I had so much fun making this layout. The listing, guessing, fussy cutting, you name it. Just had fun with it. I miss fussy cutting. Is it just me or have all the fun papers to cut seem to have vanished? This one from Prima only offers a bit of trees on it so you get two sheets.
I also realize that as stencils become more and more widely used and available, it seems wrong to only offer the kit in one way. This 6″x6″ Static stencil from Prima is so versatile and fun I personally think everyone needs one but let’s face it, you could swap it for something else you might have. So from now on, we’ll offer kits in their completed state and a “no stencil included” version. I might also take this one step further and forego the various mediums – we’ll see. Might play on the kit at hand but something to consider.
Enough ramblings for me (for now).
