Seems we have been neglecting the blog this summer. Well rest assured we are keeping busy over here! Today we have a fabulous kit form the ever-talented Gabrielle Pollacco. I know you ladies have missed her work but she has LOTS lined up so be sure to visit her blog frequently. And even more exciting, we’ll be featuring a bunch of her upcoming layouts as kits. For today, we have Picture Perfect. An amazing steampunk layout filled with fabulous chipboard pieces. Our very own Nathmael designed the cog/leaf pieces featured on the layout for EmbelliScrap. EmbelliScrap is a french chipboard company. Guess we should add our stock to the website one of these day. Yes, will do that soon. In addition, there’s two great pieces from ScrapFx that just add to the steampunk / masculine look and feel of this layout.
In case you are wondering about the pic…. That’s Gabrielle’s son-in-law to be. Her daughter got engaged last week! Congrats!!! While this pic might make him look a bit scary, he really is quite handsome. 🙂 He does these crazy tough mudder’s.
Well, the masculine look of this layout is perfectly fitting of the grunge and grime going on with Gabi’s photo. Also perfect for just about anything if you ask me. I know I usually tel you about the kit at this point but I have to show off my bonus page as I am over the top happy with it (I don’t always say that) but…
Sorry had to show off how cute that kid is. Oh yeah, he’s mine. 🙂
Anyway back to the kit which was so much fun. If you know Gabi like yo all do, you know she brings new tricks to the table and this was no different. The resist effect and use of Gelatos in this kit was a lot of fun. Just realizing I didn’t do it on my bonus. Might have to go back and add a bit after the fact. But anyway…. The kit comes with just about everything except some household items. You will need a baby wipe or wet cloth and some cinnamon. did we mention it’s a great smelling layout too?
The complete version of the kit includes the Dusty Attic Bubble Stencil and a jar of Prills. yes those tiny little textured balls you have been seeking all over designer’s blogs lately. They’ve been around for awhile but Rachelle Sigurdson rehashed them and we’re all addicted now. The jars are small – just mentioning as to not mislead anyone but they do go a long way. Basic has everything else including the 2 gelato sticks to create the brown and green color seen on the layouts. As always – please do read fun product description for all details.
Great kit right? And if you prefer the softer side of Gabi…. check back in about 2-3 weeks, we’ll have not 1 but 2 more kits for some special projects she did for Dusty Attic and Maja Designs. Speaking of Maja…. did you check out their new collection Summertime? LOVE!! just saying. And yes you will be seeing it used in a kit (or 2 very soon). 🙂
Also think in our lazy days we forgot to blog about the new Blue Fern Studios collection, Seaside Cottage. another fabulous beach collection. Might even be my all time fav Michelle Singh collection yet. I love the images and colors – you will for sure be seeing 2 kits using the colleciotn as well. What can I say when I like something… we just have to do it. So if you are wondering why we haven’t done a 49 and Market kit yet… well good question. We were waiting for just the right designer. And yes, we got it coming! Gerry van Gent has created a lovely layout featuring the Flower Fairy Collection. Will be the first time I get to work with these products. Kind of exciting!!!
Back to Blue Fern… We added a bunch of glitters and embossing powders as well. Lots of fun stuff to play with.
Also stocked up on a bunch of sold out pieces from Dusty Attic, Scrapiniec and 2Crfafty. We added a new chipboard manufacturer from Poland, SnipArt. Polish chipboard is the delicate white stuff we use in a bunch of kits. The details are fabulous and easy to add without fussing over mediums and whatnot.
So lots more to come. Check in.
