Natalie May is Back

Natalie May, is a scrapbooking teacher from Australia.  I first fell in love with Natalie’s Family layout and new she had so much we could learn from her. She brings us another great layout and awesome techniques for adding some depth to your pages.  I love how she uses a bit of paint with a mask, some stamping and pops some color with a little mist. And the circle stencil and stamp set are just so versatile that you are sure to use them over and over on other projects.  The whole layout just works so well together.  Wishing I had some rustic photos to put on my sample…. might have to remember this page this fall when doing some photo shoots.  Love it – hope you do too.

And the bonus page we came up with…

As you can see from the samples, Natalie incorporates the latest trends. Hope you like it as much as we do!

A bit about Natalie…

I am a 30 something mum to a gorgeous 10 year old daughter, Jessica {otherwise known as Happydaks} and a wife to a very supportive hubby.

I’m lucky enough to be a full time paper crafter, working in Adelaide’s best Scrapbooking shop, Seriously Scrapbooking, teaching around 15 classes a month and designing chipboard for Imaginarium Designs. I’m also an Intermediate Certified Copic Designer and love everything inky & color based.

I  have been a card maker for about 17 years and discovered Scrapbooking late 2006.  I don’t  have a particular style – versatility is my biggest asset … from heritage, simple, sketches and shabby through to mixed media and cardmaking – I like to dabble in it all!

I would say my strength is working off sketches and I am heavily influenced by all the amazing talent in this industry.

I have been published in all 3 Australian Scrapbooking magazines and have recently been part of the numerous Design Teams across Australia including Scrapware, Sassy Scrapper, Blue Bazaar and Guests for overseas manufacturers as well.

Currently I am the Design Team Coordinator for Imaginarium Designs Chipboard and recently joined the Creative Team at Australian Scrapbooking Ideas Magazine.

I have upcoming Features, Step by Steps and Projects in numerous magazines including Scrapbook Creation, Scrapbooking Memories and Aust Cardmaking and Papercrafting. I have recently taught at a couple of Australian fairs and retreats and also recently taught at New Zealand’s biggest Scrapbooking retreat, Autumn Escape in October!

I love this industry … the opportunity to teach a new technique…. Meeting so many amazing people…..and to be able to CREATE everyday is quite a blessing.

You can see more my work on my blog …

On another front…. we’re working on adding all the yummy laser cut chipboard to the store little by little.  A little about some of the companies we’re stocking…

  • 2Crafty (Australia)- It’s a little thinner than some other brands but if looking for a little dimension and a fair price, this is your brand. You’ll be seeing some of their DT members coming out with kits for us real soon.
  • Blue Fern Studios (USA) – Great designs and such a nice quality. We’re going to be adding more over the coming weeks (maybe even some pieces designed by yours truly). I should also point out Kasia is now on their design team.
  • Imaginarium Designs (Australia) – if you love Natalie and Loise Nelson like I do… this is your brand.  Both on their design team and show so much inspiration.
  • ScrapFX (Australia) – talk about detailed chipboard. Pricey but if you are looking for something special and oh so intricate… this is the one for you. Adrienne Ford is also on their design team and uses it all the time.

Who says you can’t mix and match styles?  You can check them all out here. More coming as always.

Thanks for checking in.
