Gabrielle Pollacco knows how to make a layout exquisite. Her latest kit for us, Love and Laughter, is sure to go fast as this soft and delicate layouts is nothing short of STUNNING! In this kit she mixes fabulous design elements from Pion Design with her unique style of layering and distressing. Before I go on let me just show you what I mean…
Breathtaking? Gabrielle is a scrapbooking genius if you ask me. LOVE this layout. I love so many and maybe each time I see a new one I declare a new favorite but this might just have to be it. 🙂
Thank you Gabrielle!
The product selection on this kit was perfect (always is) but I need to explain why I say this and give some props to some of my favorite companies.. (in no order)…
Ranger – Distress Paint Dabber! Honestly, It;s been a while since I packed one up. If you have every worked with Pion papers you will note they are on the thinner side of scrapbooking papers. In fact I thought – paint – Pion? Not a good mix as I thought it would have to warp the paper behind control. thought you have to add some clear gesso to protect that paper. But nope. Gabrielle knows. Why do I ever question? The paint dabber goes in to the paper so smooth and dries so quick, it was perfect! Not to mention the choice in colors blends seamlessly.
Pion Design – the imagery of their papers are so beautiful. Soft and delicate and oh so yummy (new papers are currently in route to us). But the reason I mention them here is I do have to say while I have complained — me complain? 🙂 While I would prefer a thicker papers I have to say that after working with them they didn’t seem quite as thin as I thought or complained about. They do need to be layered to help build a more stable base but the beautify and design of their papers is to do just that. I mean look at their tag sheet and borders? You are going to layer just because so in the end while thicker would be appreciated… they still work just GREAT!
Wycinanka – why have we not put them in the store yet? It’s simple – I hoard! You might even be wondering what Wycinanka chipboards are – these are the beautifully white, delicate chipboards Gabrielle has used a few times as well as some of our other designers. They add such a nice touch and easy to use since they are already white. Give me time, I will get there and make them available for sale one day but in the meantime, enjoy them in some of our kits.
Have I rambled enough? Probably but I have more…
Back to this amazing Kit Gabrielle has put together for us. When you purchase the kit, you’ll get materials needed to follow her along on a video tutorial. Access to the video is provided when you purchase the kit (you’ll receive an email with password). We are making this kit available in both basic and complete versions. The complete version includes Gabrielle’s Daisies Stamp Set as well as the Bundled Sage Distress Paint Dabber. Of course if you need one or the other and not both, you can always add-on what you do need.
In addition I was able to “whip” up a bonus sample with a few extras and the leftovers. These designers make me look like I am a pro…
I did forget to add my pearls and added a bit of stamping on the top edge after I took the photo for this post but you get the idea. And once I again, I hhad so much fun doing these layouts. In fact if I manage to get any more time in my day… I might have to squeeze out some other layouts using Pion. The video Gabrielle did just make you want to start fussy cutting and layering it up. It’s like no matter what you do with these papers and elements, following Gabrielle’s method and madness… you will wind up with some amazing layouts.
But before I go do that, I have to get caught up on sending out some orders and guessing from the look of this one, orders are going to be flying in. So get them while you can!!
Coming tomorrow/Monday – new Blue Fern Studios. Brand new paper line, stamps and chipboards! New Kits… we have one from Nadia Cannizzo next week and a few other designers have been busily working away so keep checking back!
Have a great day!
