Little Angel by Gerry van Gent

Little Angel by Gerry van Gent

Today is a very exciting day for me…. Finally able to share with you such exciting news.  Guess by the name of the title of this post you already know where I am headed with this so I will back track a bit….

A year ago I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the ever talented Gerry van Gent from Holland at CHA thanks to our friend Frank.  Of course I knew how hugely talented Gerry is. All you have to do is take one look at a beautifully layered layout and you can tell immediately when it is hers. She just has a look that always leaves you saying how did she do that or look at what she added there.  Always beautiful in her signature style.  From the moment I met her, I knew Gerry was not only a treasured designers but a person to treasure.  She’s fabulous!

Gerry needed to take some time off from designing but vowed to come back. Well she is coming back with a vengeance and rocking it right where she left off.  I am humbled that she’s agreed to design for us. She has so much to teach us and a wonderful way of going about things. When you purchase her kit and watch her video, you’ll see exactly what I mean.

So without further ado, here’s Gerry’s first kit for The Scrapbook Diaries, Little Angel…

How beautiful is her daughter?  Love that pic!

Anyway back tot the kit… We are of erring the kit in 2 versions – Basic and Complete.  Basic includes the papers, embellishments, etc. Complete includes the mist, stamp and stencil. You can see the full product description here.  I really can’t say enough how great I found Gerry’s video.  So many tips and tricks for adding detail to your layouts.

As with just about all of our kits, I was able to put together a bonus sample using 2 extra sheets of papers and some flowers with the leftover pieces of scraps.  Gerry left me some amazing pieces of Maja paper.  This time though the color palate changed a bit as I focused on the images in left over paper – the kids.  I am so happy with how it turned out. Counting down for a snow day here so I can get the perfect picture for it as these are two layouts that will surely be going up on the walls of the Meyerowitz household.

My take on the bonus sample…

As you will note the yellow wouldn’t have worked for me so I added a bit of watered down Distress Spray in Stormy Sky. Found it matched the Maja blue perfectly.

Hope you like as much as I do.

Thank you Gerry for your friendship and for making such a great kit for us to share.  Classes without borders is a wonderful approach if you ask me. 🙂

Later this week we have another new designer to The Scrapbook Diaires lined up. She’s bringing us another beautiful layout so be sure to check back in at the end of the week
