The day is finally here when we announce all the details and projects surrounding the first Beauty and Grunge Mega Kit. As you are probably well aware of by this point (at least if you follow us on Facebook)…. we have 4 of the top designers from around the world partaking in this multi-designer kit!
Kasia Krzyminska also known online as Czekoczyna. Kasia is from Poland and is and has been on numerous design teams including Prima Marketing, 7Dots Studio, Mixed Media Place and many many more. Nadia Cannizzo from Australia is also known throughout this industry as she is and has been on countless design teams. Her current credentials include Maja Design. 13Arts, Flying Unicorn, Dusty Attic and more. Gabrielle Pollacco from Canada hardly needs an introduction as she too has designed for several manufacturer’s and various design teams – Maja Design, BoBunny and Webster’s Pages – to name only a few. Last but not least, Frank Garcia from the US. You can see Frank’s work on Live with Prima as well as all other Prima publications. Frank has most recently added product designer to his resumed creating the ever popular Cartographer collection for Prima that was released earlier this year.
If you are here on our blog, you hardly need an introduction to any of these fantastic designers but let’s face it without them… The Scrapbook Diaries would not be here. These designers (and all the ones featured throughout our store) are truly the best of the best. Time and again, they all give us such great tips and techniques to help make our works look like the pros do. So thank you to all!
And enough of my ramblings… so the kit… it’s loaded with goodies. You can find a full product list in the description here. In addition to products from the best manufacturer’s out there (Maja design, 7Dots, Prima and more), we have some exclusive elements and pre-releases. The 6×6 stencil included in the kit is a pre-release from The Crafters Workshop. It will be released by TCW later this summer when they unveil one of their newest designers….Kasia Krzyminska!!!! Yep one and the same designing a mixed media page for this kit! The 12×12 stencil was designed by me and if I do say so myself, think it is pretty cool and so very versatile. it’s a stitch stencil. It was cut exclusively for us by TCW. Thanks Jaime! The stamp set in the kit is exclusive for this kit. We had them specially made for distribution in this kit! It’s got 7 different stamps – textures, frame, postcard, butterfly and leaves -what more could you need? Last but not least, the chipboard set. As you may know I design pieces for Blue Fern Studios. Blue Fern is a US-based manufacturer who has some of the best laser-cut chipboard out there. Leslie was ever so kind to oblige me when I asked if I could do a set exclusively for this kit (I might have a few extras that will find their way to the store but in essence exclusive for the kit).
What else…. Each of the four designers created a mixed media layout with a video tutorial. These videos detail how they created their final project and the steps they took. In addition, each one did a layout using another designer’s product. So you will get to make 4 layouts with a choice of 2 to chose from. Hope that made sense. The bonus layout by each instructor does not come with instruction. And last but not least – if you follow along as the designers have done, you’ll find yourself with a few extra pieces that should be plenty to make a fifth page!
The part you’ve been waiting for…. The official layouts (with video direction included with purchase of kit)…
What do you think? Hope you love them as much as we do! And here’s a peak at the bonus layouts….

Better late than never, right? La Vie III as featured earlier this month by Frank Garcia on Live With Prima is now available as a kit here at The Scrapbook Diaries. This is an awesome project where you’ll leaner just how easy it is to make your very own mini album. And what could be better than using Frank’s very own Cartographer Collection from Prima? This kit is loaded….
Yes, even the adorable metal closure is included!!! You’ll get everything you need to make the album minus the Bloom Spray mists from Prima. These mists are used to color the resin pieces but they’re just not available quite yet.

We’re giving away a complete mixed media kit from Kasia Krzyminska. This kit (Layout #23) has a $50 retail value but even more exciting is that you get access to the online tutorial to learn some of Kasia’s greatest techniques and the way she goes about creating. This in my opinion is invaluable! Here’s the product pic of what’s included:
And all this is used to make this…
I love Kasia’s work! What could be better than the chance to win such an amazing kit? How about seeing her next kit for The Scrapbook Diaries? That’s right, we’re unveiling Kasia’s latest work for us, #38. Kasia always blows my mind when it comes time to picking colors and using different mediums. This kit is of course no different. I have never used watercolor pencils. I now think they’re the greatest things and NEED to play more. Loving them! Mix them with Artist Pigment Powder and some Silks… Look what you get….
And how cute is Kasia? Love this photo. I wish I was at ProzArt and got some pics with that fabulous photographer, Marcin. Maybe next year.
Enough of my ramblings for today.
Be sure you post comments on the following blogs as well as ours for a chance to win the kit above (#23) Here’s the list of our bloggers participating in today’s hop….
P.S. – be sure to check back often, Friend us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter- we have a lot of great new kits coming out and some great new designers who are going to be releasing their first kits for us… trust me when I say the quality and talent of these designers is beyond… truly some of the best in the world.
I have to say I felt very lucky this week as I had the opportunity to take 2 classes from the ever-so-talented Anna Dabrowska, aka Finnabair. If you are not familiar with Finn, I think you might be living under a rock but that’s neither here nor there. 🙂 You do need to check out her work on her blog as it is nothing short of amazing. If you EVER get the chance to take one of her classes, DO. It is worth every penny and then some.
Finn is a fabulous teacher. She is patient, knowledgeable and helpful at guiding you in making a wonderful piece. Don’t let her fool you, her English is excellent. She is able to communicate technical information in English perfectly. I found her to be one of the best instructors I have taken a class from to date.
I’d also like to add if in the New York area and you want some great mixed media type classes, check out this meet up group, Little Bird Creations run by Michele. They always have great things going on to inspire and learn.
The 2 classes I took were the Imagine Mixed Media Canvas Class and the Industrial Boroque, Tea for Two. Loved both of these classes and learned so much. Here’s what I created with Finn’s insight….
Things have been busy around here. Seems as much as we plan to do or get done, never gets done. Best intentions. With a crop coming up, The Grace Foundation Autism Crop on Saturday, April 6th, we are busy working on kits so we are fully stocked. For anyone in the Staten Island area, this is a great crop to attend and support. The community really pulls together on this one and comes to support.
On other good news, we have two world renowned designers coming on board to create some new kits. Without giving away too much right now we’ll just say one is published in just about every edition of Creating Keepsakes and on several design teams such as Websters Pages. Her style is truly unique and undeniably her own. Only reason we are holding off a bit on the announcement is due to some issues with product availability. Will keep you posted.
The other designer is still awaiting a box of goodies to create her kits. But I can say this… she creates beautiful mixed media works of art in a very feminine way. If you like my taste, you are going to LOVE what’s in store for you.
And on to a new kit for today… Birthday Wish List
This kit is great for male or female birthday celebrations thanks to Crate Paper’s great designing… the journaling paper predominantly has blue/green’s on one side and red’s on the other. Genius! Plenty of room to tuck in tags for journaling or additional photos. We’ve pre-spalshed the base papers to make it a little easier and to save time on drying.
