Bricks by Misty Russell

Some designers are masters of painting. Some designers are masters of composition. Some are great for various techniques while others inspire our inner artist. Some are even a combination of these and more.

Misty Russell is a creative genius! In her latest kit for The ScrapbooK Diaries Misty literally creates bricks from our crafting supplies.  In this super fun kit, you’ll see first hand how you can recreate the brick look for this layout or any other. After doing it ourselves, we also found this to create the perfect rocks. What’s better than a multi purpose technique?

I for one LOVED making these bricks! When my sheet was dry, I thought it also looked like rocks so the bonus page…

Bricks, rocks – you take your pick and try your hand at creating some unique textures for your pages and projects.  Misty used regular table salt on her sample, we used sea salt.  As she points out, Sea Salt gives a deeper groove so create a few samples and see what you like best.

We are offering the kit in two versions – basic and complete. Yes, a big price difference.  The set of Lindy’s Mists is included in the complete version – 5 bottles.  If it’s a bit much… be sure to hav on hand or buy separately the Steel Shimmer and Steampunk Sepia – these are awesome. I used half a bottle of the Steampunk Sepia for this project. The complete set also includes the fabulous Doily Stencil from Finnabair for Prima.

Hope you like it as much as Misty and I do! Too much fun and so inspired!

More this week… more kits and yes we are ordering the latest line from Maja Design – Winter Basics!
